20 year old Australian living in California, going to college and trying to make sense of the world...typical right?
RIP (#17 TC)
As you can probably tell by my blog and especially my last couple of posts, I am extremely liberal and I support pro choice and the idea that everyone is born equal and deserves to be treated as such. I believe there is too much hate in the world and I believe people are misguided and can be ignorant to the truth.
If my liberalness and my general demeanor towards politics and social issues bothers anybody then I apologise. However, I will not change and I will not take these issues lightly. There is an unfollow button, so if it really bothers you, go ahead and press it.
I like to speak my mind. I am a very confident speaker when it comes to social and political issues. I am dead set in my beliefs and values and they won’t change easily.
I am an Atheist and I really don’t mind announcing it to anyone. I am not ashamed of what I believe and I find it extremely disrespectful when someone thinks less of me because I don’t believe in “God”. I find it strange that Christians and other religions can go door to door, hold protests in the streets and get up in arms about every little detail, but when an Atheist does it, it either loses merit or it’s deemed “inconsiderate” or “intolerant”. One day I would like to go door to door and try and push atheism to people. I would like to film it and then survey/interview people about why they react the way they do.
I do believe in Climate Change and I do believe that if we don’t do something about it, the Earth will slowly die… which it is already doing. We need to work together, as a collective group to save the planet. If we don’t, my kids and my kids kids will suffer, and I don’t want that happening. Wake up. It’s real.
As you can see, I am a typical liberal. However, I do have a lot of conservative and religious friends who I am really close with. I don’t let politics and religion affect my relationships with people, unless they try and cram it down my throat and then you best believe we will get into a heated debate. Most of the time politics and religion doesn’t even come up, so it’s not that big of an issue.
Life can be beautiful, if we can all just get along.
Thank you and goodnight!
