What makes you fit to run the country?

The 2 “strongest” candidates on the Republican side are Newt Gingrich and Mit Romney. One is a fundamentalist Christian and the other is a Mormon. Now, I do respect people’s opinions and their beliefs, however, this shouldn’t be a criteria for choosing a President. In the most important document in America, it states that there is a separation of Church and State. If I had it my way, I truly believe that an Atheist would best lead the country because they wouldn’t be concerned with religion.

Both of these candidates don’t believe in Global Warming or Evolution. These are both theories that have been accepted by the science community. Theories are not just “whims” or “guesses”. They are hypotheses that have been tested and confirmed. “But it’s not fact, what about God?”. Well, when you can prove to me there is a God like the scientists can prove to me, with facts and tests, that evolution occurred then I’ll believe. Until then, leave religion out of politics.

Newt cheated on 2 of his 3 wives and married his mistresses. Hmm, sounds like a lier and cheater to me. Perfect for President right? Uh huh. According to South Carolina.

Mit earns more than 99% of Americans. So his interests will be the same as most Americans right? Uh huh. According to Iowa and New Hampshire.

Obama is the best candidate for this upcoming election. He has done so much in his first term and nobody has given him any credit for this.  These republicans are out of touch with current America and the people.

If you want to run the country, you need to be the voice of the majority of the population, not the 1% or the big companies. You need to leave religion out of politics. You need to leave the internet alone. You need to be able to not care what a women wants to do with her body. You need to stop going to war, just to go to war. In 235 years of US history, the country has been in some sort of war or military conflict for 209 of those years.

It’s not a voice to tell the people what to do. A democracy is for the people by the people. Right now it’s, for the corporations that give us money for the rich and those who really don’t need our help.

"You the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness. You the people have the power to make life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy let’s use that power, let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give you the future and old age and security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power, but they lie. They do not fulfil their promise, they never will. Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people. Now let us fight to fulfil that promise. Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness."
